I am completely for removing sexually explicit books in both the school libraries and from the Supplemental Reading lists. Capital Resource Institute taught me how to find and remove sexually explicit books from school libraries in 2024. That is when I discovered that my district has nearly a thousand of these books on the shelves of K-12 school libraries. I took action, in December 2024, I initiated a private meeting with a board trustee informing her of the problem and provided her a list of the books to follow up on. She gave the list to the Superintendent and we also have a private meeting in January '25. Since then I have been reading from these books and speaking up against the existence of these books each month just to be shut down. The board refuses to admit that these books are on the shelves despite the Superintendent finding several of the titles I mentioned. He is challenging some of the books at this time, but the board won't address them by adopting a new book policy.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, I believe biological sex is real and is determined at birth and cannot be changed. I believe students should only have access to restrooms, locker rooms, or showers that align with their biological sex. I will challenge policies that undermine that.

I am against biological boys participating in girls' sports, period. Allowing boys to compete against girls is physically unsafe because they are stronger and larger than girls in general; is not fair to strip opportunity away from girls; boys need to compete against boys and girls against girls, and most of all, we should not affirm a child's gender dysphoria because it goes against God's natural design.

I will protect and advocate for parental rights because I believe that parents have the ultimate authority over the decisions for their child. Students are still minors and parents have the right to be informed of the their use of school-based healthcare facilities or services and the child should not be allowed to receive any services without parent approval. I believe that parents should be informed by the school administration at the beginning of the school year what services are available through the school-based healthcare facilities.

I support the Constitution and I believe that it is the parent's right to be promptly notified by the school if their child requests or engages in a social gender transition such as a change of name, pronouns, or facility use while at school. Parents have the ultimate decision-making authority over their child, not the child him or herself, and certainly not the school or state.

I am a proponent for school choice and parents decide how their child is educated and education funds should follow a student based on a parent's choice of education for their child.

I prefer that option over an "Opt-out" policy that is currently in place in CA because parents have more control over what is taught to their child or asked of the minor. I believe having to "opt-in" to student surveys and questionnaires will provide for greater transparency to the parent.
