I strongly favor requiring valid legal identification to cast a ballot. The election system is overly liberal, especially vote by mail. Frankly, we have no idea who is voting.

Yes. Voters should show a government-issued photo ID before casting a ballot. It's a simple step, and it gives people confidence that the count is honest.

The 2nd Amendment is clear; we have the right to bear arms. Allowing government, the authority to limit our access to guns, removes the right to defend ourselves and our families. More importantly, the 2nd Amendment was enacted to allow Americans the ability to form a militia in the case of any foreign or domestic attempt to overthrow our government. Specific regulations are appropriate to keep weapons from certain individuals. such as felons and the mentally ill. Based on my experience as a retired police officer, every suspect I found with a gun, had not obtained the gun legally. They always said that they "found it" "it's not theirs" and "I don't know how that got there." Gun laws penalize the law-abiding citizens, crooks will get guns outside of any regulations. Essentially gun control takes the guns out of the hands of the good guys and gives them to the bad guys.

I believe in the 2nd Amendment and in a person's right to own a firearm to protect their home and their family. I carried a weapon in Iraq, so I take that right seriously. California already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, and a city council doesn't write them.

I have always opposed any marijuana dispensaries in Ontario. Although the liberals in California have legalized this drug, Federal law still consider it illegal. I expect my officers to enforce all laws, federal and state. Cities should not be allowed to legalize drugs that are prohibited under Federal law. That is why we have never had any dispensaries in our city, medicinal or recreational.

As a Registered Nurse I understand the use of cannabis in a medically controlled environment. However, as a father raising my kids here, I don't want recreational dispensaries in our neighborhoods. Ontario already prohibits them, and I would vote to keep it that way.

We must do all we can before increasing taxes. We all must live within our means, government is not any different. Ontario has been successful, not because of higher taxes, but, because we encourage economic development. We create jobs. The business community generates tremendous amounts of revenue, subsidizing our quality of life. Our businesses make their profit, and at the same tine provide revenue for us to maintain quality of life. Finally, if the state and federal governments did what they receive funding to do, my city wouldn’t have to pay for social programs out of our general fund.

I would not raise taxes. When money gets tight at home, you look at your own spending first, and the city should do the same. I'd go through the budget line by line and cut what isn't serving residents before I'd ever ask families to pay more.

The only choice is to have sex or not. After the decision to have sex, both parents must live with the results. I do not support abortions at any time of the pregnancy. I have seen abortion used as birth control. The killing of an innocent baby is sinful and can’t be condoned. And abortions should never be paid for by any governmental agency.

I'm pro-life. That comes from my faith and from what I've seen caring for patients. I'm not going to force my belief on anyone, and a city council doesn't decide that question anyway. What I can do in Ontario is make this a city where families can afford to stay and raise kids: safe neighborhoods, good parks, youth sports, and real support for the churches and nonprofits already walking with young mothers.

Marriage is a spiritual relational more than a legal one. God intended for a man and a woman to marry, and the purpose of sex is to procreate. Same sex marriages cannot procreate, thus defying God's intent.

The voters of California made that decision and it's settled. I want the best for everyone in this city, and I believe God is the judge, not me. My job on the council is to treat every resident fairly, no exceptions.

I believe we need to bring God to government. I am the one that brought "In God We Trust" into our council chambers. Invocations are an extension of that. People often mistake freedom of religion as not allowing religion into government. In fact, the 1st Amendment guarantees that Government will not infringe on religion. Not that religion can't be included in government. I'm Jewish, and like others that keep the faith, I think the world is upside down because we don't respect religion and discourage people from praying. Everything that happens is God's will. It is up to us to serve his mission. Praying at a meeting is something that we need. Everyone has a choice to pray or not. But don’t take away my right to pray.

I support them. Prayer before a council meeting is a tradition worth keeping, and it reminds everyone in that room that we're there to serve the people, not ourselves.

We must protect our borders. It is a matter of National Security. Although I’m a strong believer is securing our borders, and anyone entering our country to do so legally, I don't support the ICE actions taking place now. It's my belief as a retired police officer that these supposed "ICE" agents are not Federal agents. There is no way we had thousands of extra federal agents available. I believe these are folks recruited. They are not trained in officer safety, their tactics are not professional, and frankly, I don't think they have the skills. Again, while I support strong borders, I don't support armed agents entering homes and businesses haphazardly arresting popple. As a Jew, I had relatives murdered and sent to consecration camps. I fear government agents pulling people out of their homes without proof the suspect is here illegally. Having said all of that. I do support the President's effort to eliminate citizenship for anyone born in the US.

Border security is a federal matter, and I'm running for Ontario City Council. My responsibility would be our streets, our police officers and firefighters, the warehouses and truck traffic, and the cost of living here. That's where I'm going to keep my focus.
