I believe school libraries should provide age-appropriate materials that support student learning. Books containing pervasive vulgarity or explicit sexual content should be reviewed carefully and removed when they are determined to be inappropriate for the age and maturity of the students they serve. Parents should have a meaningful voice in their children’s education and they play an integral part in approving material.

I believe girls deserve privacy, safety, and dignity in school restrooms, locker rooms, and showers. These facilities should remain designated for biological females. I support providing private, single-user facilities for students who need alternative accommodations which is what I advocated for and we did when we had a different district with a transgender student play against our girls. Protecting the privacy and safety of our female students should remain a priority in our schools.

I do not support allowing biological boys to participate on girls’ sports teams. I believe girls’ sports should be reserved for biological females to protect fairness, competitive opportunities, and the safety of female athletes. Every student deserves respect and opportunities to participate in athletics, but those opportunities should not come at the expense of girls’ sports. That is why I authored a protecting girls sports and Title IX resolution which passed our board 4-1.

I support requiring schools to notify parents when their minor child receives healthcare services at school. Parents have a fundamental responsibility for their children’s health and well-being and should be informed and involved in medical decisions. Schools should establish clear, timely notification procedures, with appropriate exceptions for medical emergencies. Schools should not withhold information about a child’s health from parents.

I believe parents have a fundamental right to be informed when their minor child requests or engages in a social gender transition at school, including changes to their name, pronouns, or facility use. I support prompt parental notification and believe schools should not intentionally withhold this information from parents. Parents are essential partners in their children’s education and well-being, and schools should respect their role.

I support allowing education funding to follow students based on parental choice, provided there are clear accountability and financial safeguards in place. Parents should have meaningful options to choose the educational setting that best meets their child’s needs. Any program receiving public funds should be subject to appropriate financial oversight, transparency, and accountability for student outcomes. Taxpayer dollars must be used responsibly, with safeguards against fraud and misuse. School choice should empower families while ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds.

I support requiring parental opt-in for student surveys and questionnaires, particularly those addressing sensitive topics such as mental health, sexuality, gender identity, family matters, or personal beliefs. Parents have a fundamental right to know what information is being collected from their children and how it will be used. Schools should provide parents with access to survey questions in advance and obtain their informed consent before participation. Transparency and parental involvement are essential to maintaining trust between families and schools.
