School libraries are for learning, not for exposing kids to explicit sexual content. If a book is pervasively vulgar or sexually explicit, it does not belong on a campus shelf where minors can pick it up. That is not a ban on hard ideas or classic literature. It is an age-appropriate standard. Parents should be able to trust that school is focused on reading, writing, math, and a safe environment. I will support clear review policies, parental access to what is available, and removing material that is explicit or pornographic. Students can still read widely. They should not have to wade through sexual content to do it.

Restrooms, locker rooms, and showers are private spaces. They should be separated by sex. Girls should not have to undress, shower, or use the restroom with biological males. Safety and privacy are not optional, and they are not hate. Schools can treat every student with dignity without erasing sex-based spaces. That is the line I will hold.

Girls’ sports are for girls. Allowing biological boys onto girls’ teams is unfair and unsafe. It takes records, roster spots, and scholarships from female athletes. Title IX was meant to protect women’s athletics, not dismantle them. I will vote to keep girls’ sports female.

Parents should, by default, be notified when their minor child uses school-based healthcare facilities or services. Schools are not a second household. If a child is receiving care on campus, the parent is the decision-maker and has a right to know. I support clear notification policies so families are not cut out of their own child’s medical care.

Parents have a constitutional right to raise their children. If a minor asks the school to change a name, pronouns, or facility use, the school should notify the parents promptly. A school that hides that from a mother or father is inserting itself between the child and the family. Staff are not substitute parents. I support parent-notification policies and will oppose any practice that keeps parents in the dark.

Parents should have real power over their child’s education. I support policies that expand parental choice and keep public dollars accountable to students, not systems. As a school board member, my first job is to make Chino Valley schools so strong that families want to stay. Choice does not replace that duty. It raises the standard. Families should not be trapped in a school that is failing their child.

Surveys that ask students about family life, sexuality, religion, politics, or mental health should require parental opt-in. No quiet questionnaires. No fishing expeditions. If a school wants that information from a minor, it should ask the parent first and show the questions. Transparency is not optional. I will support opt-in requirements and oppose surveys that collect sensitive data behind a parent’s back.
