I am in favor of voter ID because I believe that it demonstrates honesty and integrity which are both biblical principals. Our elections should be secure and trustworthy, and reasonable identification requirements can help the integrity of the voting process.

The 2nd Amendment protects the God given responsibility of individuals to protect themselves and their families. The Bible teaches us to excercise wisdom, self control and responsibility as gun owners. Any regulation should respect the rights of law abiding citizens as they excercise the above principals. Firearms should be kept out of the hands of individuals that have shown that they are a danger to others or have the demonstrated ability to be a danger to others.

I don't believe our community should encourage the recreational use of marijuana. I support public safety within our families and community. In my opinion I believe we are called to excercice self control avoiding intoxication and make wise decisions. I also believe that the use of marijuana contributes to increased impaired driving, addiction and family hardship. And even though the State of California has legalized marijuana it still remains illegal federally.

I would immediately cut unnecessary spending to address the budget deficit. I would also attempt to improve efficiency and prioritize essential services (public safety) before considering any tax increase.

I am pro-life and against abortion without exceptions. I would use my position to foster a culture that values life by supporting policies that strengthen families and make it easier for women to choose life.

I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman and is a Biblical institution. This is reflected in my Christian faith and I personally hold those values. Having said that, I recognize that CA law provides for civil marriage between consenting adults regardless of sex or race. I have to respect the law while remaining true to my faith and personal convictions

Being a current city council member I totally support allowing invocations at the opening of our City Council meetings. I believe it is a part of seeking the Lords wisdom and guidance before making any decisions.

I think President Trump has done a tremendous job on increasing border security. There has been an increased infrastructure, and stronger enforcement that has decreased illegal border crossings increasing our National security.
