One of the greatest constitutional rights given to us as American citizens is the right to vote. This legislation is a long overdue step toward strengthening the integrity of our elections.
Free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy. I voted to require all U.S. Citizens to exercise their Constitutional right to vote while effectively end mail-in voter registration and ensuring that only U.S. citizens vote and implement voter ID to prevent fraud. This is simply common sense and a critical step toward restoring integrity to ensuring every vote counts and every election is fair. I am proud to be fighting alongside President Trump to deliver the fair elections Americans are calling for.
It needs to be passed. The senate needs to pass it.

I completely support the 2026 SAVE America Act. I think that it is ridiculous that we would impose any type of verification without requiring people to vote at all. Allowing people to vote without any type of verification is incredibly irresponsible.
Speaking as a local election official (I am the Chief Deputy City Clerk for the City of Colton), I am embarrassed that our elections process is so lax. Can you believe that when I was filing my papers to run as a Congressional Candidate, no ID was required to complete the process... at the very end, right after I was sworn in and the ROV representative indicated that we were almost done, I brought that up and asked him why they had not asked for any type of ID verification. He had no answer except indicating that I had signed the affidavit. I responded by asking him - what if I lied? What if I am an illegal immigrant? How would you know? He had no answer and needlessly say it got very awkward very fast. We MUST secure our elections ASAP.
The American people deserve confidence that their voice is truly heard on Election Day. Even if voter fraud is rare, citizens have every right to demand accountability and proof that our elections reflect the will of the people. Secure elections matter because they reveal what issues truly matter to voters and hold government accountable.
Unfortunately, some in Congress dismiss common-sense reforms by claiming they will disenfranchise voters. That argument is disingenuous. If changes do create temporary hurdles, the solution is simple: provide clear guidance and assistance so every eligible American can register and vote.
New processes can feel challenging, but difficulty is not a valid excuse to reject reforms that protect election integrity. Strong, trustworthy elections strengthen our democracy and restore public trust.

The right of an individual to elect their representative is what sets us apart from the rest of the world at this nation's inception. Over time many nations have adopted direct elections with safeguards to ensure election integrity. Unfortunately we have not implemented measures that protect this cherished right. I fully support a means of positive identification to engage in this right.

Requiring a government-issued photo ID to vote is reasonable, responsible measure that helps secure our elections and protect every legitimate vote. California deserves a system they can trust - one that is fair, transparent, and accountable. We already show ID for everyday activities. Applying that same standard to voting helps ensure fairness, transparency, and trust.
Voter ID is basic common sense. Voter ID should be a picture ID, open a bank account, or cash a check. Voting should be no different. Requiring photo ID helps ensure trust in our elections, and trust is everything. We should make it easy and free for every eligible voter to get an ID, but there's nothing controversial about wanting secure elections that people have confidence in.
