I authored SB 450, the California Voter’s Choice Act, which modernized elections by allowing counties to conduct elections with automatic vote-by-mail, expanded in-person early voting and allowing voters to cast ballots at any vote center in their county.

Israel

Do you support or oppose the Jewish people’s right to the land of Israel?
I have made many statements in support of Israel’s right to exist and defend itself. This past year, I voted alongside other members of the Jewish Caucus on Senate Concurrent Resolution 105 which reaffirmed California's commitment to universal human rights and called for the end to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the immediate release of all hostages.

The Insurance Commissioner has a responsibility to address the affordability crisis. To restore a solvent, competitive insurance marketplace while keeping rates fair and affordable, we must strike the right balance between protecting consumers and ensuring insurers can sustainably operate in the state.
