The mounting national debt is not a revenue problem, but a spending problem. The only moral and sustainable way to eliminate a deficit is to shrink the size of government, curb domestic spending, and grow the economy out of debt. We cannot reduce the deficit by raising taxes. Tax increases simply give Washington more money to spend. Federal budget was bloated with wasteful, non-essential domestic programs. Lower taxes and deregulation would stimulate business, create jobs, and naturally generate more tax revenue through a booming economy.
