I support requiring proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections and reasonable voter identification requirements. Voting is one of our most fundamental rights as Americans, and protecting the integrity of our elections is essential to maintaining public trust. We should make it easy for every eligible citizen to vote while ensuring that only eligible citizens participate. Secure elections and access to the ballot are not competing goals—we can and should have both.

Washington cannot continue spending money it does not have and passing the bill to our children and grandchildren. Congress must restore fiscal discipline by eliminating waste, demanding accountability from federal agencies, and prioritizing essential responsibilities over unnecessary spending. I support a balanced-budget approach that grows our economy, encourages American businesses and job creation, and requires government to live within its means. Families and small businesses have to make responsible financial decisions every day. Washington should be held to the same standard.

I strongly support Israel and its right to exist, defend its citizens, and protect itself from terrorism and hostile regimes. Israel is an important democratic ally of the United States in an increasingly dangerous region. Our partnership should include strong security cooperation while maintaining clear accountability for how American taxpayer dollars are used. I also believe we must continue working toward lasting peace and security for innocent people throughout the region while making clear that terrorism and attacks against civilians can never be justified.

I support strong border security and many of President Trump’s efforts to restore enforcement of our immigration laws. A sovereign nation must know who is entering its country. The federal government's failure to secure the border has contributed to human trafficking, fentanyl entering our communities, and tremendous strain on local resources. We can be a compassionate nation while still enforcing our laws. Congress must secure the border, strengthen enforcement against criminals and traffickers, and create an immigration system that is orderly, lawful, and fair to those who follow the rules.

My Christian faith teaches me that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and that belief guides my personal view of marriage. I also recognize that Californians amended our state Constitution in 2024 and that federal law currently recognizes same-sex marriage. As a member of Congress, I would protect the constitutional rights of all Americans while also vigorously defending the First Amendment rights of churches, religious schools, ministries, and individuals to live, worship, teach, and operate according to their sincerely held religious beliefs without government punishment or coercion.

I am pro-life and believe every human life has inherent dignity and value. I support the Supreme Court’s decision to return abortion policy to the democratic process rather than having it dictated by the courts. I also believe being pro-life requires us to do more than debate laws. We should support women facing difficult pregnancies, strengthen families, expand adoption resources, and ensure mothers have the practical support they need to choose life. We can defend unborn children while approaching women and families facing extraordinarily difficult circumstances with compassion and respect.

Parents—not government institutions—have the primary responsibility for raising their children. Schools should never intentionally keep significant information about a child's health, identity, or well-being from his or her parents, except where disclosure would violate a specific legal obligation or present a genuine safety concern. I strongly support parental rights, transparency in schools, and the right of parents to guide the upbringing of their children according to their values and beliefs. Teachers should be partners with parents, not substitutes for them.

Parents should have the primary role in making medical decisions for their children in consultation with their doctors. I oppose one-size-fits-all government mandates that unnecessarily remove parents from those decisions, particularly when they fail to recognize legitimate medical circumstances or deeply held religious convictions. Government has a responsibility to protect public health, but it must also respect parental rights, individual liberty, informed consent, and legitimate exemptions. Public policy should provide families with accurate information and allow parents to make informed decisions about their children's health.
