Known as the “Protecting Our Children from Online Extortion Act,” would create a new felony for anyone who recruits, pressures, or uses a minor to harm, harass, groom, or sexually exploit another minor, including through social media or electronic communication. It would also remove the existing exemption for minors in extortion cases when they knowingly threaten or coerce another minor into providing sexual acts or intimate images, including AI-generated images. Conviction carries a prison sentence of two, four, or six years, in addition to any other applicable penalties.
