Would add Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha to California’s official state holidays. Courts would stay open on these holidays, but public schools and community colleges could choose to close if local school boards and unions agree. State employees would also be allowed to use holiday credit or leave time to celebrate Eid or other cultural and religious holidays on the dates their communities observe them. Schools could also hold educational activities about these holidays.
